With the increased interest being shown by the authorities in conventional brothels, paid sex parties appear to be on the increase. Using varying premises/locations instead of a fixed base, advertising on the internet instead of the local papers, paid sex parties would seem to be in the line of fire in the current climate.
I read somewhere that they are known as "brothels on wheels". Because of the obvious elements of control (recruiting girls, obtaining premises, advertising, etc.) and gain (they ask for a "donation", "contribution" or whatever, they're not running these events out of the kindness of their hearts!) and involve multiples of girls selling sexual services on the same premises parties seem to fulfil all the criteria of conventional brothels and would certainly appear to contravene Secs. 53 and 55 of the 2003 SOA, viz. "keeping, managing or acting or assisting", and "intentionally controlling the activities of another person relating to that person's prostitution". The owners/lessees of the properties where the parties take place may also warrant investigation. It's important to note that the working girls attending the parties are not committing any offence at present, but the organiser(s) almost certainly is.
