A MAN from Bury posted explicit pictures of a woman on the internet and encouraged her to have sex with men who responded, a court heard. Bolton Crown Court heard Fred Pyott, aged 47, used money made from prostituting the woman to buy takeaways.
Pyott, of Wash Lane, pleaded guilty to five counts of inciting prositution for gain, and was jailed for 16 months on Monday. He pleaded guilty on the basis that it happened on 10 occasions. The prosecution said it happened more frequently, but did not request a trial of the issue.
The court heard that Pyott, who is a heavy drinker which led to him becoming impotent, took photos of the victim and put them on the internet without her knowledge. Lisa Bakker, prosecuting, said: “The defendant took pictures of her posing naked and some in underwear and posted them on the internet. When interest was shown by males he facilitated their contact with the complainant.”
The court heard it came to light when a drug and alcohol worker visited Pyott’s home and he said he was £10,000 in debt.
He told her that he had started to prostitute the woman to make some extra money. The worker was concerned about the situation and contacted the woman, who said she was not happy with the arrangement.
During an interview with police, the victim said she felt sick about the photographs but did not say anything because she was scared Pyott would shout at her.
Rasab Khan, defending, said: “The defendant was not aware that it was illegal. That probably explains why he volunteered the information in the first place.”
Judge William Morris, sentencing, said: “In my judgement these offences are so serious that I am bound to impose a custodial sentence.”
