Ipswich: Two men, aged 62 and 71, face vice den charges |

IPSWICH: A 62-year-old and a 71-year-old who are alleged to be behind the running of an Ipswich vice den have been charged with managing a brothel. Angels massage parlour in Woodbridge Road, was raided by police twice in four months last year.
Five people were arrested in connection with the activities alleged to have been taking place at the premises. After being interviewed by detectives, they were released on bail, pending further enquiries. Police have now said two of the suspects have been charged with alleged offences.
Peter Yallop, 71, of St Clement’s Church Lane, Ipswich, is accused of keeping/managing a brothel used for prostitution. He has also been charged with producing cannabis. Danny Burrows, 62, of Cherry Blossom Close, Ipswich, has also been charged with keeping/managing a brothel used for prostitution.
The men will make their first court appearance on the accusations before South East Suffolk Magistrates Court on February 8.
The first police raid at Angels took place in March last year. The second occurred in July.
As part of the later operation, codenamed Hackness, officers also executed an early morning search warrant at a flat in Chesterton Close, on the Chantry estate, at 7.30am, where a 45-year-old man and 38-year-old woman live.
They have not been charged, but are still under arrest.
Officers also went to Burrows’ address in Cherry Blossom Close, in Pinewood, while others went to Yallop’s home near Fore Street.
A 32-year-old woman from the Beccles area is the fifth person to be arrested as part of the investigation. She is currently on police bail and is due to return to Great Yarmouth police investigation centre on March 6.
After the police’s second visit to Angels a team from British Gas were asked cut off the supply of electricity at the premises.
