A 33-YEAR-OLD woman has been banned from loitering for prostitution in the Midlands for two years after being caught in Nottingham. Emma Midgley, of no fixed address, has been served with an anti-social behaviour order after being caught by police in Mapperley Road, Nottingham, on July 6.
Nottingham Magistrates' Court imposed her Asbo until August 24, 2012. The order prevents her from entering the "Nottingham Vice Area" between 5.30pm and 5.30am daily, and from loitering or soliciting for the purposes of prostitution anywhere in Notts, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
Richard Antcliff, neighbourhood enforcement officer for Notts Police community protection team, said: "In this instance, we had no choice but to apply to the courts for an Asbo stopping Ms Midgley from continuing this behaviour, which negatively affects local residents and their families. We will continue to use our tools and powers as effectively as possible to protect our local communities."
