West Mids
POLICE have threatened to seize the cars belonging to kerb crawlers in a new crackdown on street level prostitution.

Officers in Bearwood have launched the operation, codenamed Eradicate, to crack down on the problem in and around the Sandon Road area.

There has also been an increase in uniformed patrols in the area to deter sex workers from gathering. Undercover officers will also be targeting clients. Security cameras have also been installed in targeted streets, including Drayton Road, Sandon Road and Poplar Avenue.

Any vehicles repeatedly seen in the area will receive a warning letter from police, and anyone who is convicted of kerb crawling could face a driving ban and have their car seized.

Police Insp Bal Mand said: “My officers will be targeting any drivers or individuals acting suspiciously.”
