A man has admitted inciting a woman to become a prostitute.

Garry Coatsworth, 48, appeared at Teesside Crown Court and pleaded guilty to the charge which took place in Teesside.

He also admitted being in possession of over 900 indecent images of children.

The court heard that the offences spanned a seven-year period between September 2008, up until August 2015, with Coatsworth being found in possession of 923 images.

The defendant, of Bakewell Place, Newton Aycliffe, spoke only to confirm his name and address at the short hearing today.

Judge Peter Armstrong adjourned sentencing until Monday, June 19.

A devious pervert invented a fictitious escort agency to dupe a woman into having sex with him thinking she would earn £900 in one night. Garry Coatsworth, 48, dreamed up fake agencies named “Cyber Girls” and “Angelic Angels” with bogus social media accounts to con women into bed, a court heard.

The gambling addict’s elaborate deception was revealed - along with more than 900 child abuse images on his computers - after he scammed a struggling mum. He befriended her online using a false identity, posing as a woman running a modelling and escort agency, Teesside Crown Court was told today. He asked whether the mum was interested in work, saying the agency had “ridiculous business”.

The victim in her early 30s, who was short of money, going through a divorce and trying to provide for her children, grappled with the decision and consulted with her family. She decided to go ahead, reassured over her safety by Coatsworth’s phantom female alter ego that the escort agency’s clients were checked.

Prosecutor Harry Hadfield said: “She was told that £900 was to be paid to her. She was convinced this was a legitimate and safe escort agency. She thought she was contacting the agency but it was him all along.”

A non-existent client - in fact Coatsworth himself - came to her home, had unprotected sex with her and took photos of her during sexual activity in June 2015. He had asked for sexual services in his car but she refused. She was never paid, and when she sent a message to the fake businesswoman, she was blocked.
