As family businesses go, it's certainly one of the more unusual - and illegal - ones. And today, a married couple who ran a brothel in Yeovil have been told by a judge that they could very well be going to jail for their enterprise.
Dean and Maya Rogers (47 and 54), who run the Maiden Rest bed and breakfast on The Esplanade at Weymouth, were in Taunton Crown Court today to admit running a brothel in in Hendford Hill, Yeovil, between May 1, 2015 and October 28, 2015
Smartly dressed and standing side by side in the dock, the couple spoke only to confirm their names and to admit the charges against them, in front of Judge David Ticehurst. No other details were read out during the short hearing.
The case was adjourned for four weeks, so a pre-sentence report could be prepared by the probation service, but the couple were warned they could be facing time behind bars.
Judge David Ticehurst told them: "The fact that this case is being adjourned should offer you no promises. All options will remain open to the judge who deals with your sentencing – including an immediate custodial sentence."
The couple were released on bail until the sentencing hearing on November 24.http://oldestprof.com/index.php/crimewa ... acing-jail
