Three men in court after human trafficking raid in Blackburn
THREE men will appear in court today after being charged in relation to human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Blackburn.
All three men, who were arrested when police raided a house in Accrington Road at around 7.45pm on Wednesday.
Ionut Stan, 31, of Accrington Road, Blackburn was charged with keeping/managing a brothel used for prostitution.
Cristian Stan, 30, of Accrington Road, Blackburn was charged with keeping/managing a brothel used for prostitution.
Cristian Vasile, 33, of no fixed address was charged with keeping/managing a brothel used for prostitution and possession of a class A controlled drug (heroin).
The raid came as part of an ongoing police enquiry into human trafficking.
Two women in their twenties were found at the house and are believed to have been brought to the UK from Romania.
They are now in a place of safety and are being spoken to by specially trained officers.
DI Mark Vaughton said: “These arrests are part of our on-going work under Operation Proteus, in which we have a dedicated team working to identify both the victims and perpetrators of trafficking and slavery across Lancashire.
